At All Saints, our Christian vision is that, through the power of God’s love, children will reach their true potential and be able to live their lives with an open mind so that they learn from the world around them. Through our Physical Education curriculum, we inspire children to develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity, recognise the importance of healthy lifestyles and grow in confidence, resilience and determination.
Our Physical Education curriculum is designed to provide children with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary needed to participate successfully in a wide range of physical activities. Through the Kapow Primary PE scheme, learning is carefully sequenced to ensure progression in fundamental movement skills, physical competence and understanding of sport, exercise and wellbeing. Children build upon prior learning over time, developing confidence and achieving their personal best.
We encourage children to challenge themselves, work collaboratively and demonstrate positive attitudes towards participation and competition. Through a range of activities including games, gymnastics, dance, athletics and outdoor learning, pupils develop agility, balance, coordination and teamwork. They learn the value of perseverance, fair play and respect, whilst developing the confidence to take risks and embrace new challenges.
Our rural setting provides valuable opportunities for children to engage with the outdoors and appreciate the benefits of an active lifestyle. Through participation in sporting events, enrichment opportunities and physical activity both within and beyond the curriculum, pupils learn how physical wellbeing contributes to their overall health, happiness and ability to flourish.
In line with our school motto, Love, Live and Learn, we aim for children to develop a love of physical activity, live healthy and active lives and learn the skills needed to participate confidently and successfully in sport and exercise. We want all children to leave All Saints with the confidence, knowledge and motivation to enjoy being active, work positively with others and embrace challenges with determination and resilience, enabling them to flourish and fulfil their God-given potential.
