At All Saints, our Christian vision is that, through the power of God’s love, children will reach their true potential and be able to live their lives with an open mind so that they learn from the world around them. Through our Computing curriculum, we inspire children to become confident, responsible and creative users of technology who are equipped to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Our Computing curriculum is designed to provide children with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary needed to understand and use technology effectively, safely and purposefully. Through the Purple Mash Computing scheme, learning is carefully sequenced to ensure progression in computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Children build upon prior learning over time, developing the confidence and competence needed to apply their skills across the curriculum and in everyday life.

We encourage children to think computationally by solving problems, designing algorithms, creating digital content and understanding how technology works. Pupils develop resilience, logical thinking and creativity as they learn to debug, evaluate and improve their work. Alongside these technical skills, children learn how to use technology responsibly, recognising the importance of online safety, digital wellbeing and respectful communication.

Our Computing curriculum prepares children for life in a rapidly changing technological world while remaining rooted in our school values and community. Through meaningful and engaging learning experiences, pupils develop an understanding of how technology shapes the way people live, work and communicate locally, nationally and globally. They learn to make informed choices and consider how technology can be used to improve the lives of others and contribute positively to society.

In line with our school motto, Love, Live and Learn, we aim for children to develop a love of learning through technology, live responsibly and safely in a digital world, and learn the skills needed to become active and informed digital citizens. We want all children to leave All Saints with the confidence, knowledge and skills to use technology creatively, safely and effectively, enabling them to flourish and fulfil their God-given potential.
