Book - 16th Dec Polar Express Stay and Play Open Day!

Little Robins Nursery is a day nursery in Bednall, near Stafford. We are part of a small rural community but cater for children from further afield, welcoming nursery students from Pillaton, Penkridge, Acton Trussell, Cannock, Stafford and beyond.

Our small class sizes mean we can have a more personal, proactive approach to learning and play compared to larger nurseries in Cannock and Stafford.

At All Saints CE Primary School every pupil and teacher truly does know everyone’s names, and it’s this family ethos that sets us apart from larger day nurseries and city schools.

Our family ethos shines through

A huge benefit of being a small, rural school is that our teachers have more one-on-one time with the pupils to support them.

This close-knit family ethos extends to the Little Robins Nursery, with every child getting the time and dedication they need to flourish.

It’s our unique nurturing, family environment that distinguishes us from nurseries in Stafford and other cities.

What will my child do at Little Robins Nursery?

We believe that children learn through both play and structured learning.

Our qualified nursery teachers follow an Early Years curriculum to help prepare your child for Reception and beyond.

Using modern teaching techniques, your child will learn sounds and letters through daily phonics lessons – encouraging a love for reading from an early age.

Your child will also learn about the world around them, nurturing their natural sense of curiosity and promoting exploration. To find out more about the curriculum we follow in Little Robins, please visit our Early Years page.

The hygge approach – what is it?

Little Robins Nursery follows the hygge approach when it comes to learning and play.

Hygge is the Danish practice of creating calm, organic spaces that promote a feeling of warmth, togetherness and cosiness.

Our hygge nursery focusses on providing a home-from-home for our children, a safe space where they can explore, play and learn together.

We immerse the children in nature by adding authentic resources to the nursery environment and foster a sense of curiosity for the world around them.

Outdoor learning – Wildlife Wednesdays and forest school

We’re one of a few forest nursery schools in the area. Our focus on outdoor learning extends throughout the school to all age groups and is a hit with our pupils.

Outdoor learning sessions are led by our experienced forest school teacher, Mrs MacKinnon.

We are very lucky to have plenty of outdoor space on our school field to get the children learning outside of the classroom – rain or shine!
