Worship at All Saints

At All Saints School, worship is at the heart of our school community and is a special time for pupils and staff to come together in reflection, prayer and celebration. Our school vision states that, through the power of God’s love, children will reach their true potential and be able to live their lives with an open mind so that they learn from the world around them. Collective worship plays a central role in bringing this vision to life, providing opportunities for all members of our school community to reflect on their values, beliefs and experiences.

As a church school, our close partnership with the church helps children to grow spiritually, emotionally and socially within a caring Christian environment. Our worship is shaped by our school motto: Love, Live and Learn. Through the exploration of Christian values, biblical teaching and opportunities for prayer and reflection, children consider how these align with our Christian vision and school motto. They are encouraged to reflect on how they can show love and compassion towards others, live life in all its fullness and learn from the world around them with open minds and hearts. Worship enables pupils to develop spiritually, deepen their understanding of faith and values, and recognise their role in contributing positively to their communities.

Central to our vision is Jesus’ promise in John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Through worship, we encourage our children to embrace every opportunity to grow, flourish and develop their unique gifts, knowing they are valued and loved by God. This message inspires our whole school community to live well, learn deeply and support one another.

Through hymns, Bible stories, prayers, music and moments of reflection, worship provides meaningful opportunities for children to explore Christian teachings, engage with big questions and deepen their understanding of faith and the world around them. Children are encouraged to reflect on how they can respond to challenges with compassion, courage and respect, enabling them to develop as thoughtful and responsible citizens.

We value the strong links between school and church, taking part in services and celebrations throughout the year that strengthen our sense of belonging, community and shared faith. Through collective worship, we seek to nurture confident, compassionate and reflective individuals who are equipped to flourish and fulfil their God-given potential through the power of God’s love.

Spirituality at All Saints

In our Church school, spirituality is woven through everyday life and is often explored through the idea of “In, Out and Up.” This simple approach helps children to reflect on themselves, their relationships with others, and their relationship with God. In encourages children to look within themselves. We provide opportunities for pupils to reflect on their thoughts, feelings, values, and beliefs, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and an understanding of who they are. Out focuses on relationships with others and the wider world. Through acts of kindness, teamwork, worship, charity work, and caring for our community and environment, children learn the importance of compassion, respect, and serving others. Up encourages children to look beyond themselves and explore their relationship with God. Through prayer, worship, reflection, and visits to church, pupils are given opportunities to experience awe and wonder and to develop their own spiritual understanding within a loving Christian environment. Together, “In, Out and Up” supports our vision of helping every child flourish spiritually, emotionally, and academically, enabling them to live life in all its fullness.
