At All Saints CE Primary School, we want every child to Love, Live and Learn, enabling them to “live life in all its fullness.” Personal Development is at the heart of this. We want our children to grow into kind, confident, respectful and resilient individuals who feel ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
We know that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, understood and included. Our Personal Development provision therefore places a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, positive relationships, resilience, self-esteem and helping children understand and manage their feelings. We are a trauma-informed school and recognise that every child is unique, with their own experiences, strengths and needs.
Our PSHE and RSE curriculum provides an important foundation, helping children learn about their health and wellbeing, relationships, safety, choices and growing independence. This is brought to life through all aspects of school life, including Collective Worship, reflection, RE, PE, music, My Happy Mind, Wildlife Wednesday, clubs, trips, residential experiences, performances, leadership opportunities, charity work and community involvement.
We also want our children to be curious about the world beyond their own experiences. Through visitors, trips, Picture News, Black History Month, National Inclusion Week, different faith and cultural experiences, the arts, sport and community links, children are encouraged to appreciate diversity, respect different beliefs and perspectives, and recognise the things we share with others.
Our Christian values, SMSC and British Values are woven throughout school life, giving children opportunities to develop their voice, understand responsibility, make positive choices and treat others with kindness and respect.
Above all, our Personal Development provision is about knowing our children well and helping every child to flourish. We want every child to leave All Saints feeling confident in who they are, able to build positive relationships, resilient when faced with challenges and ready to embrace life with confidence and curiosity.
